The Transforming Teacher

A Life Long Learners’ Blog

What is one word that describes you?

Merriam-Webster defines pleasing as; “giving pleasure” “agreeable.”

I find myself pleasing in more ways than just these definitions.

Pleasing personality- funny, silly, calm yet courageous. I’ve been told I’m “easy to be around.”

Pleasing to the eye 👁️ 😉- I am confident in myself and try to be healthy.

Please and thank you- I am kind and use my manners. I am professional when I need to be. I take people for their word and believe in them until I am showed other wise. I am respectful.

People PLEASER- this one I have identified with my therapist and it has been a cause of so many emotions and happenings in my life. I am working to find balance with “pleasing” others vs “pleasing” myself.

“Please’ don’t leave Ms Mrs.” Is still a phrase I reminisce and ruminate over. Heard from children parents and teachers every time I would change a role or position. Begging me not to leave. Not to change the “agreeable” or “pleasurable” experiences they had with me as their teacher. It’s how I know I have made a difference and still have the ability to do so.

To all the children teachers and parents I have and still have yet to come into contact with I promise to keep working hard. I promise to “please” you and to make changes to make things more “agreeable” for you all.

Please on.
