For those who do not know I proudly am a Michigan State Spartan. I graduated from MSU with my Masters in Child Development in 2020. GO GREEN!
Another fun fact I love sports. Especially college sports! My weekends mostly consist of rooting on the Spartans… Specifically, weekends in March!
This year has been quite the season for the boys in green and white out on the basketball court. Long story short the Spartans were not expected to be as good as they are this season. One phrase commonly used to explain their success this season is “strength in numbers.”
Now, obviously every one has their own take with this phrase. Me; I think of it as “I got you,” “we’re in this together,” “united” “togetherness” “depth”… you get the picture.
To clarify- The Spartans this year have a roster full of “players.” Of course players are given a man to mark, a position to play, a play to run… but this team of “players” is special because they all go out there for each other. They go out there and play where they are needed not just the “position” they hold. Almost every player gets minutes and points every game. Every player goes out and gives it their all.
I have said it once, I’ll say it again. One of my FAVORITE things about Early Childhood is the “team” aspect. Classrooms have a team of teachers. Two sometimes three teachers to be able to rely on, plan with, connect with, to check in and get by with. Let’s be real… teachers are not here for the money they’re here to make a difference and be a part of a team that creates a fun, safe learning environment for children.
I am here to connect with others and help make the lives of educators (and others too!) easier and more meaningful. I want to create a space for people to come together to learn about Early Childhood but connect on all sorts of levels. I can’t wait to connect with you all and to strengthen this platform and the experiences you have here. Those who I have worked with are supporting me in this journey and strengthening my confidence to keep going. I got to read my first published book to a classroom today! I look forward to connecting them and myself with new followers to strengthen the field and the hearts and minds of all who come here.
To end on a fun note… Have you ever filled out a tournament bracket with group of young learners? I highly recommend it… So many opportunities for learning. Also hilarious comments, opinions and you definitely learn more about the child’s home life as well 😉

Good luck to my Spartans in this tournament!
And as always to my educators I hear you. I see you. I am here for you. Let’s be strong together.
To my non educators thanks for hanging in there, reading, connecting and giving some love.
Together we will move on. Move Forward.
