I absolutely love this time of year. The sun is finally starting to come back out ☀️ and there is growth everywhere.
Flowers are starting to pop up. Getting taller and taller each day. Adding color, lush and beauty to the dreary gloomy scene we are used to enduring daily.
Green grass, trees, and plants are speckling the ground here and there. Providing food for the animals coming out of hibernation and the babies born during the off season. The sounds of lawn mowers and sprinklers will soon be heard each morning and evening tending to the growth of the yards and lawnscapes.
In classrooms children start to go outside more and more. They notice the growth of the grass, plants and flowers around them. Inside the classroom they start a garden of their own. Learning the needs of each plant, the conditions necessary to grow, and the love care and kindness necessary to promote growth. Watching, waiting, willing for there to be any growth, any change at all. They notice celebrate and cheer on the changes they see. The growth they see. The beauty they have helped produce.
Little do they know this is happening for them, with them every day. They are growing little by little every day.
Teachers promote growth within children every day. Just like one would for plants teachers individualize and promote the necessary conditions for each child to grow. This time of year teachers are working hard to assess, and determine what children need to prepare for the future and also to have fun and find the joy and beauty of learning.
To make it my own “daily prompt,” What is your type of plant to grow this time of year? I am so excited my tulips are coming up!
Grow On. 🌸🌷🌻🌼
