The Transforming Teacher

A Life Long Learners’ Blog

What’s one small improvement you can make in your life?

Life is a crazy chaotic roller coaster that never seems to stop. We have our ups. We have our downs. We even have those twists and turns that come unexpectedly.

One thing that gets me through it all is genuinely the act of being outside. Doesn’t matter if I go for a walk, a run, a bike ride, throw the ball to the dog, plant in the garden or hit a bucket of golf balls; just being outside breathing fresh air and taking in the smells, the feel of the wind, the sun or rain brings me peace and calm.

The act of grounding (literally putting your bare feet in the grass) proves to be extremely beneficial for your mental health and moods. It also helps you to focus on the present moment which again can better your mood.

I am very excited to be going into the warmer sunny months and to be able to get outside as much as possible. My recently published children’s book Walking Wednesday stems from my love for being outdoors and the influence my grandmother had not only on that love but on the love for outdoor education as well. Check out and or purchase the book below or on my home page if you’d like! Thanks for the support!
