The Transforming Teacher

A Life Long Learners’ Blog

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

Journaling is defined as; “the practice of writing down your thoughts, feelings, experiences and reflections on a regular basis in a designated space (such as a journal, notebook or digital platform)” (thanks to AI overview upon google searching the term journaling 🤪.)

Journaling is an outlet that is designed to literally “let out” all that is on the mind. Documenting all of life’s moments in order to; reflect on, learn from, brainstorm further or to just literally get it out of your mind and thoughts.

Journaling is more than just writing something on a sticky note or piece of paper. It is writing with an intention. Writing that will support you to learn from grow from or even move on from an experience or conversation.

The best part? YOU are in control. From how you want it to look, to what you write about… you make the decisions and participate in whatever form of journaling supports you and your growth the most.

Forms of Journaling:
Emotion Regulation and Understanding
-Gratitude Journals
-Dream Journals
-Nature Journals
-Planning Journals
-Reflection Journals
-Diary

Both children and adults can benefit from the peace and clarity that can come from journaling. From planning and recall, to documenting experiences and feelings to making up a random story journaling provides a creative outlet to free up the space in our brain and mind to do what we need and want!

I created journal pages that will be available on my teachers pay teachers account later this summer! I am so excited to be able to offer up this type of experience to my followers, teachers and the preschoolers that come along! I believe in the art of journaling and feel children should have the ability and opportunity to do so as well!

I journal daily! Currently mostly about the ways I was kind to myself during the day… a current goal of mine to be kinder to myself! Do you journal? What are your favorite things to journal about? Let me know!
