What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?

Routine- I thrive in knowing what to expect. My ADHD and anxiety challenge me to navigate off course often throughout the day. With routine, I know what I “should” be doing when and I can most often put myself back on track when the nagging voice in my head tries to pull me in other directions.

Self Care and Love-Doing things that bring me joy and peace. Exercise, yoga, meditation, grounding, painting, reading, gardening. When I throw these types of activities into my routine I am much happier, confident and positive. Participating in these activities gives me more energy and motivation to accomplish the unwanted part of my days. (dishes, laundry, house work, work work!)

Positive Self Talk- Affirming that I am strong, safe, capable of doing things really encourages me to do more and continue being me. Snoop Dogg’s Affirmation song does wonders for me and my confidence! There really is no one better to be than myself! (although I did just look up the lyrics… does he say beat or be? hmm)

Therapy– Every other week I have a therapy session. Every session does so much for my brain soul and mind. I am able to freely speak; my anger, frustration, sadness, happiness without judgement. I am given strategies to try, thinking to evaluate and challenged to think deeper and try new things and strategies to support my mental health and life in general!
