One of my top bucket list places is Reggio Emilia, Italy.
The Reggio Emilia Approach (Early Childhood curriculum and educational philosophy) was derived in Reggio Emilia on the premise that children are competent and capable. Founded by Loris Malaguzzi and the devoted locals and educators of the town.
Quite the perfect time to pay my respects to Lella Gandini an author, professor, and long-time advocate and Reggio children Liaison in the United States… who sadly passed away yesterday. Lella- you will be missed. I promise to work hard to advocate for and practice the beautiful philosophy, curriculum and practices you worked so hard to maintain and perfect.
